Packington Village Show, organised by the village Horticultural Society, has been going for 77 years and the committee are not going to be put off organising the 78th on Saturday 5th September; if at all possible. With the beautiful spring weather and a lot of extra time on most people’s hands, this year could be the best for flowers and vegetables as there is no excuse not to get into the garden to do some planting. With the children off school there must be a lot of creativity being put into future exhibits and for the walkers, of which there are many taking their daily prescribed exercise, the chance to take award winning photographs must be boundless.
As the year progresses we will be keeping you informed of our plans for the show, how you can be part of it either as an exhibitor or just wanting to view the exhibits, what to expect on the day and how the decision is made to redistribute the money raised. The Grand National, Wimbledon, Cricket, Football, London Marathon have all had to be cancelled or delayed disappointing millions of people and whilst we don’t expect that many on the 5th we are positively pushing ahead with our plans to make the show the best yet.
We will be regularly blogging, both here on the website and on our Facebook page, and you’ll hopefully see some articles about us in the local magazines and newspapers. Future items are going to include gardening tips, articles on committee members, highlights of past shows, growing advice as well as many more subjects including news about an exciting new show item which will be happening later this year.So please follow us on Facebook or sign up below to receive the latest updates straight to your inbox.
